Terms of Use
These terms govern your use of the Dark Horse iOS app, darkhorseapp.com.au and related beta services. By creating an account or using Dark Horse, you agree to these terms.
What Dark Horse does
Dark Horse helps founders protect attention, record focused effort, confirm outcomes, reflect on evidence and keep a private record of the journey behind a business. It is an accountability and focus tool, not a promise of revenue, investment, business success or any particular result.
Your account
Provide accurate account information, keep your sign-in details secure and tell us promptly if you believe your account has been compromised. You are responsible for activity carried out through your account. Sign in with Apple is also subject to Apple's applicable terms.
Your journey and evidence
You keep ownership of the words, links, photos, documents and other material you add. You give Dark Horse permission to store, process, display and reproduce that material only as needed to operate the app, sync your account, restore your journey and generate outputs you request.
Business Journey documents are assembled from founder-recorded and founder-approved information. They are not an independent audit, valuation, legal opinion, financial advice or due-diligence report. Check every generated document before relying on or sharing it.
Screen Time, reminders and timers
Dark Horse relies on Apple frameworks and device settings for app restrictions, notifications and background activity. Delivery and timing can be affected by iOS, permissions, Focus modes, device state and settings outside Dark Horse's control. Do not rely on Dark Horse for emergencies, safety-critical restrictions or exact timekeeping where an error could cause harm.
Optional support payments
Website support payments are optional one-time contributions processed by Stripe. They do not unlock app features, ranks, medals, beta access, content or any competitive advantage. Deleting a Dark Horse account does not reverse a completed support payment. Our Refund Policy explains how duplicate or mistaken support payments are handled.
Acceptable use
You must not misuse Dark Horse, including by attempting to:
- access another person's account or private journey;
- interfere with security, service operation or other users;
- upload malicious code or unlawful material;
- use Dark Horse in a way that violates applicable law or another person's rights; or
- present generated journey documents as independent verification of business results.
Beta service and availability
TestFlight versions are pre-release software. Features may change, fail or be removed, and interruptions may occur. Keep any exported records you cannot afford to lose. We may update, suspend or end beta access where reasonably necessary, including for safety, security, maintenance or misuse.
Dark Horse ownership
Dark Horse branding, software, interface, text and other materials supplied by us are owned by or licensed to Dark Horse and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These terms give you a personal, limited, non-exclusive and revocable right to use the service; they do not transfer ownership of Dark Horse intellectual property.
Liability and Australian Consumer Law
Nothing in these terms excludes rights or guarantees that cannot lawfully be excluded, including rights under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent permitted by law, Dark Horse is provided on an "as available" basis and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, lost profits, lost opportunities or business decisions made using the service.
Ending your account
You can permanently delete your account and cloud journey from Control > Account. We may suspend or terminate access for serious misuse, legal requirements or material breach of these terms. Provisions that logically continue after termination, including ownership, liability and governing law, remain in effect.
Changes and governing law
We may update these terms as Dark Horse develops. The effective date will show the most recent revision. These terms are governed by the laws of Western Australia, Australia, and disputes are subject to the courts with jurisdiction there, unless applicable law requires otherwise.
